Jugs | BP3 Softball
The Jugs BP3 Softball Pitching Machine is a three-wheel softball pitching machine built for a true game-like experience, throwing eight pitches from 45-75 mph with remote-control changeups. A coach changes speeds from behind the plate or at the machine with one touch of the included keychain remote. Automatic pitching circuits run programmed fastball and changeup sequences that simulate real at-bats. Risers, drop balls, curveballs and screwballs sit on the Select-A-Pitch dial, and Pinpoint pitch targeting gives true zone control on two axes. A large 3 in. LCD shows the speed for quick, accurate adjustments.
A coach can let the circuit run the at-bat or take it over from behind the plate on the pitch he chooses, so the hitter gets a sequence instead of a stack of identical reps. The SP3 Softball throws at the same 45-75 mph without the circuits or the remote changeup.
Eight pitches sit on the Select-A-Pitch dial: fastballs and changeups, right- and left-handed curveballs, right- and left-handed screwballs, risers and drop balls. Underneath, three 1/4 HP motors turn three Grip-Tite 12 in. pneumatic tires with a 20-year lifespan, and the 149 lb. machine rides a transport cart that tilts and rolls on and off the field. The Long Feed Chute and its Always-See-The-Ball delivery system come standard.
Inside the BP3 Softball
The BP3 Softball and the SP3 Softball share a 45-75 mph range and Pinpoint targeting; the BP3 adds changeups, circuits and a 3 in. LCD.

Closer look
Set the circuit and step back. The programmed fastball and changeup sequences simulate real at-bats, a different job from throwing a good pitch. The hitter has to reset between pitches, the way she does in a game. Circuit 1 switches between fastball and changeup every 10 seconds, circuits 2 and 3 switch at random, and the 3 in. LCD keeps the current speed visible from where the coach is standing.
The Select-A-Pitch dial holds eight pitches on the BP3 Softball: fastballs and changeups, right- and left-handed curveballs, right- and left-handed screwballs, risers and drop balls. Each one is a dial position, so a curveball round and a riser round come off the machine without a setup change. Alongside the dial, Pinpoint horizontal and vertical micro-adjustments handle zone control, and vertical and horizontal macro adjustment levers make the big moves for deep fly balls, grounders and full-field practice.
The BP3 Softball is built for fly ball drills, defensive drills and blocking drills, so the machine that ran the hitting period turns and runs the catcher's period. For blocking work a catcher needs balls in the dirt at a repeatable speed and angle, and Pinpoint's vertical adjustment puts them there pitch after pitch. On the feed side it takes JUGS LeatherLast softballs, Sting-Free dimpled or seamed softballs, Lite-Flite softballs, polyballs and high-quality leather softballs.
