DermaLux: 808nm Diode Laser

DermaLux is a diode laser for hair removal. The platform runs at 808nm, with 755nm and 1064nm available as options, and energy density is set anywhere from 0 to 300 J/cm2. Pulse width runs from 10 to 400 ms and the repetition rate from 1 to 10 Hz, at a 33% duty cycle, so speed and fluence are both set at the console to suit hair colour and skin type.

The HS-DI-1800 handpiece carries three spot sizes, 12x32, 12x25 and 12x15 mm. Kavvia builds it around a micro optical focusing spot in place of an optical waveguide, and describes the hand as lighter and smaller than a waveguide handle. Cooling is a conducted cooled stack with FAC technology. Kavvia lists the machine for full body and targeted hair removal, underarm, bikini and Brazilian work, facial hair reduction and men's grooming.
