The Sports Attack Junior Hack Attack Baseball Pitching Machine is a three-wheel pitching machine built as a training tool for serious young players. It throws 70+ MPH from 45 ft, which gives the hitter the timing of a 90+ MPH pitch. Three concave 14 in. throwing wheels grip the ball in three places on the way out. The hitter watches it through the feeding motion, the acceleration and the release, the way a live arm shows it. Pitch selection happens at the speed dials, so the throwing head stays where the operator set it. It arrives fully assembled and runs on 110V, with 220V models available.

The dials run from 35 MPH up to the 70+ MPH top end, which brackets the 50 to 55 MPH most youth hitters face. Turn the throwing head and the same machine sends fungo fly balls out to 250 ft. When the session ends, it rolls off the field on two transport wheels.

How it works

A cast alloy head over a powder-coated steel frame carries the three driven wheels of the Junior Hack Attack.

Variable speed motors
Three variable speed motors drive three concave 14 in. throwing wheels. Changing the breaking pitch plane is a matter of adjusting the wheel speed dials, with no throwing head adjustment involved.

Every pitch change happens at a dial or handle

Three wheel speed dials set the pitch. Turning them changes the breaking pitch plane and moves the Junior from a fastball to a right or left handed breaking ball. Two-wheel machines reach the same pitches through throwing head adjustments, which take time at the machine. Elevation and plate location each have their own handle, and both can be turned between pitches.

Off the field with one person

Moving the Junior Hack Attack takes a tilt, an un-socketing of the legs, and a roll on two heavy-duty transporting wheels. Those wheels are separate from the throwing wheels, and front wheel guards keep the throwing wheels clear of the ground so they pick up no dirt or gravel on the way. The machine fits into any SUV or full size car and passes through a standard doorway.
