Ball Release at 53 Inches

Sports Attack Junior Hack Attack Baseball Pitching Machine w/Extended Legs

A set of 3 leg extensions measuring 46" raises the ball release height of the Junior Hack Attack from 43" standard to 53". Ten inches is the whole of what this listing changes: where the ball leaves the machine. The elevation handle and the pivoting head then work from that higher starting point.

Underneath the extensions the machine is the Junior Hack Attack throwing head and frame: three variable speed motors, three concave 14" throwing wheels, 70+ MPH, and a recovery time Sports Attack lists at 5 seconds. The extensions socket into the same tripod base, so the machine still tilts and rolls off the field on two transport wheels.

The Chassis Under the Extensions

The leg set is the reason to buy this version. The machine it lifts is the same cast alloy and powder-coated steel Junior Hack Attack.

📏
Three 46" Leg Extensions
Three extensions, one per leg, each 46" long. Fitted, they put the ball release point at 53" where the standard legs put it at 43". They socket into the frame the same way the standard legs do, so the machine still un-sockets for transport.

🏗️
Extra Wide Tripod Base
Height only works if the base underneath it is steady. The extra wide tripod base holds the machine on pitching mounds and on baseball playing surfaces, and 135 lbs of powder-coated rust-proof steel frame absorbs the recoil of each pitch.
135 lbs
⚙️
Three Wheels, Three Motors
Three powerful variable speed motors drive three concave 14" throwing wheels, and the ball is gripped in three locations on the way out. Sports Attack attributes the machine's control and accuracy to that three-point grip.
70+ MPH
☀️
Cast Alloy Head, Heat-Steady Wheels
A high tensile, heat-treated alloy aluminum casting covers the throwing mechanism and holds its finish in weather. The throwing wheels keep their shape in direct summer sun, and Sports Attack states it has never replaced a wheel from wear or heat exposure.

Setup and teardown

Taller on the Mound, Same Roll to the Shed

The extensions socket into the tripod the same way the standard legs do, so the routine at the end of practice is unchanged. Tilt the machine, un-socket the legs, and roll it on two heavy-duty transporting wheels that are separate from the throwing wheels. Front wheel guards keep the throwing wheels off the ground, away from the dirt and gravel that cause inaccuracy and wear.

  • Set of 3 leg extensions, 46" each, socketed into the tripod base
  • Ball release height of 53", raised from the 43" standard
  • Tilt, un-socket the legs, roll on two heavy-duty transporting wheels
  • Front wheel guards keep the throwing wheels clear of the ground
  • 135 lbs, and it fits into any SUV or full size car and through a standard doorway

At the machine

Three Dials and Two Handles Do All of It

Wheel speed dials change the breaking pitch plane, which is how one operator moves from a major league fastball to a right or left handed breaking ball without touching the throwing head. Two-wheel machines reach those same pitches through throwing head adjustments, which cost time at the machine. The elevation handle and the inside/outside handle then place the ball, and both turn between pitches.

  • Dial-set fastballs, curves, sliders, split fingers and knuckle
  • Elevation adjustment handle raises or lowers the pitch inside the strike zone
  • Inside/outside adjustment centers the first pitch with the machine left in place
  • Both controls together reach any area of the strike zone between pitches
  • Recovery time of 5 seconds, which Sports Attack credits to the three wheels

Which height

43 Inches or 53 Inches

The two Junior Hack Attack listings differ by leg length. The standard machine releases the ball at 43". This one adds the 46" extension set and releases at 53". Everything Sports Attack publishes about the throwing side of the machine is shared: 70+ MPH, 45 ft distance simulating 90+ MPH, 250 ft fungo fly balls, 135 lbs, 110V, and use with a solo feeder or a team feeder.

  • Standard Junior Hack Attack: 43" ball release height
  • With the extension set: 53" ball release height
  • Same 70+ MPH speed rating and 5-second recovery time on both
  • Same level of play: high school, college, professional and commercial
  • No assembly required; the machine arrives fully assembled

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Sports Attack describes this listing as a set of 3 leg extensions for the Junior Hack Attack Baseball Pitching Machine. The extensions measure 46" and raise the ball release height from 43" standard to 53".
Ten inches higher. Standard legs put the release point at 43"; the extension set puts it at 53".
No. Sports Attack publishes the same speed for the Junior Hack Attack either way: 70+ MPH, which from a distance of 45 ft simulates a 90+ MPH pitch. The extensions change the height of the release point.
Yes. The legs un-socket from the frame the same way. Tilt the machine, un-socket the legs, and roll it on two heavy-duty transporting wheels, which are separate from the throwing wheels. Front wheel guards keep the throwing wheels off the ground so they pick up no dirt or gravel.
The throwing head pivots instantly in any direction for deep fly balls, slicing line drives, catcher's pop-ups with reverse spin, towering infield pop-ups and grounders. Sports Attack publishes fungo range as 250 ft fly balls.
Two handles. The elevation adjustment handle raises or lowers the pitch, and the inside/outside adjustment shifts ball location at the plate. Used together they reach any area of the strike zone between pitches, and the first pitch can be centered with the machine left where it stands.
Turn the wheel speed dials. The exclusive three-wheel design changes the breaking pitch plane at the dials, covering fastballs, curves, sliders, split fingers and knuckle, plus right and left handed breaking pitches. Two-wheel machines require throwing head adjustments for the same changes.
Sports Attack lists recovery time at 5 seconds and credits the three-wheel design for it.
Regulation leather baseballs, dimpled practice balls, Wiffle® balls and all softer practice balls. Synthetic leather balls are excluded: Sports Attack says they wear quickly and leave a residue on the wheel. It also converts quickly to throw a special 7.5" diameter vision training ball, sized to force centering and tracking while hitting mechanics stay intact.
Electrical requirement is 110V, and the machine works with either a solo feeder or a team feeder.
No assembly is required. Sports Attack ships the Hack Attack fully assembled and ready for immediate use. The machine weighs 135 lbs, fits into any SUV or full size car, and passes through a standard doorway.
Sports Attack covers material, workmanship and wear components, meaning throwing wheels, controllers and motors, for two years for residential and institutional buyers and one year for commercial buyers, from the date of original purchase based on the serial number and date codes on the unit.
