The Theragun Prime Plus is a massage gun from Therabody that warms a muscle and strikes it in the same pass. The head travels 16mm on each stroke, with five massage speeds and three heat levels. The heat comes from the Heated Percussive Plus head in the box. The body withstands drops up to 10 feet, weighs 886 g and measures 214 x 153 x 199 mm. Heat and percussion are usually two devices and two sessions. On the Prime Plus they are one head and one pass. The Heated Percussive Plus attachment holds 45, 50 and 55 degrees Celsius, which is 113, 122 and 131 Fahrenheit. It keeps warming while the motor is still striking. Speed and heat are set on separate controls, so full heat at the slowest speed is as easy to reach as no heat at the fastest. That same mount opens the wider Plus range, which includes the Cold Plus attachment and all five Plus percussive heads.

A rechargeable battery runs the Prime Plus for about 150 minutes, and the figure moves with whichever head is fitted. It charges over the USB-C cable in the box. A 16mm stroke carrying a warm head
The head travels 16mm in and out on every stroke, which is as far as any Theragun goes. Depth alone is not what separates this model from the rest of the family. Five massage speeds sit on top of that stroke. The heated head runs its own three temperatures at the same time as the motor runs.

The heating element sits inside the Heated Percussive Plus attachment and not inside the handle, so warmth arrives exactly where the head meets you. Three set points are available: 45, 50 and 55 degrees Celsius, which is 113, 122 and 131 Fahrenheit. The head keeps its temperature while the motor is running. Heat and speed are chosen on separate controls, so either one can be turned down without touching the other.

Bluetooth pairs the Prime Plus with Coach in the Therabody app, which offers recovery recommendations and control of the device from there. Coach reads from a wearable if you have one paired to it. One pass doing the work of two

A warm muscle and a worked muscle normally take two devices and twice the time. The Heated Percussive Plus attachment does both at once, because the heating element sits inside the head that is doing the striking. Three temperatures are on offer and the highest of them is 55 degrees Celsius, or 131 Fahrenheit. The speed control is separate from the heat control, so a slow stroke at full warmth is one button press away. For a lot of buyers that pairing is the whole reason to pick this model over the Theragun Prime, which runs the same 16mm stroke with no heating element anywhere in its kit.

The Plus heads it takes

Every Plus attachment in the Therabody range mounts on the front of this device. That covers the Cold Plus attachment, which holds 5, 10 and 15 degrees Celsius and is bought on its own, and it covers all five Plus percussive heads. The Standard Ball Plus, the Dampener Plus, the Thumb Plus, the Wedge Plus and the Micro-point Plus are each sold one at a time. Classic Theragun attachments use a different fitting and will not go on.

Four attachment heads ship with the Prime Plus and each one has a job. The Heated Percussive Plus head is the one that warms, and it is the only head in the box that carries a temperature. The Standard Ball is the general-purpose head for large muscle groups, the Dampener is the soft one for tender areas, and the Wedge Plus is shaped for shoulder blades and IT bands. Every Plus attachment. The five Plus percussive heads are the Standard Ball Plus, Dampener Plus, Thumb Plus, Wedge Plus and Micro-point Plus, each sold on its own. Both temperature heads fit as well: the Heated Percussive Plus Attachment that comes in the box, and the Cold Plus Attachment that does not. The same Plus heads fit the Theragun PRO Plus, and every one of them except the Micro-point Plus fits the Theragun Mini Plus. Classic Theragun attachment heads use a different fitting and will not mount here.
A rechargeable battery inside the handle, topped up with the USB-C cable in the box. Runtime is 150 minutes on average and it moves with the attachment fitted, so a session that leans on the heated head can come in shorter than one that does not. There is no removable battery and no spare to buy.
The heads wear and the device does not. Change the foam attachments every 60 to 90 days, depending on how much use they see, and buy them one at a time as they go. Wipe the head and the body after each session and keep the USB-C port free of dust. Let a head dry completely before it goes back in the pouch.
