Relaxing Massage With Built-in Guided Routines
The second-generation Sense answers three questions on its own screen: where to work, for how long, and how hard to press. Four guided routines are preloaded on the device, and a live pressure readout across three levels tells you when your force is in range while the routine plays.
The stroke is 12mm, which Therabody tunes toward relaxation, and the motor is an adaptive design that holds speed when you lean into it. Five speed levels, a built-in LCD screen and two attachments make up the rest of the device. It measures 130 mm x 115 mm x 43 mm and runs 120 minutes on a charge.
Key Features
Guidance is the Sense G2's whole argument. Routines live on the device, the screen reads your pressure back to you, and the app fills in the rest from your wearable data.
Science-Backed Benefits
Therabody's benefits list for the Sense reads: relieve aches and pains, ease soreness, reduce stress, sleep better. That is their wording. Here are the eight design decisions underneath it.
Closer
Start one of the four built-in routines and the LCD screen walks the session: which body part, how long to stay there, and where your pressure sits on a three-level scale. The controls were simplified on this generation, so speed and routine selection are reached with fewer presses. Routines can be swapped from the Therabody app, with up to five stored on the device at a time for use with no phone nearby.
The patented ergonomic grip gives several ways to hold the same device, which is what makes it easier on hands and wrists across a full routine. The adaptive motor is the other half of that: it maintains speed and power as pressure is applied, so the stroke stays consistent while you hold the head against a muscle. The body measures 130 mm x 115 mm x 43 mm, small enough to keep in a drawer by the sofa.
The box is short. The Sense arrives with the Standard Ball for broad muscle groups and the Dampener for anywhere tender, a USB-C charging cable, and a travel pouch that holds all of it. Therabody lists a 1-year warranty on the device.
