Self-Powered Curved Treadmill

Sprintbok V2

The Sprintbok V2 is a self-powered curved treadmill from NOHRD, the wooden-equipment arm of WATERROWER. There is no motor, no power cord, and no fixed speed. The belt moves when you do. Push off the slats and it accelerates; ease back and it slows with you. You set the pace, not a preset program.

The deck is curved by design. 62 wooden slats run across it, each fitted with a linoleum tread surface for grip and a quiet, vibration-free run. The curvature biases foot strike toward the midfoot and forefoot — closer to how the body runs on natural ground than the heel-strike pattern a flat motorized belt encourages. An integrated display surfaces real-time training data on the console, and the unit syncs to the NOHRD Connect app or to the third-party running apps you already use.

Available in six hardwood finishes: Cherry, Oak, Walnut, Vintage, Shadow, and Club. Ships in one package by carrier — no user assembly required.

The Build

A curved wooden deck, engineered to run on effort.

Two design decisions define how the Sprintbok V2 runs: the self-powered curve, and what's underfoot.

Self-Powered Curved Deck
The curved running surface converts stride force into belt motion. Push forward off the slats and the belt accelerates with you; decelerate and the deck slows. No motor, no power cord, no preset speed. The curvature also biases foot strike toward the midfoot and forefoot rather than the heel.

62 Slats with Linoleum Tread
62 wooden slats run across the curved deck. Each is fitted with a black linoleum tread surface that delivers grip underfoot while eliminating the vibration and rumble of a conventional rubber belt. The result is a quiet run that doesn't broadcast through the floor.

Sprintbok V2 curved deck side profile
Self-Powered Operation

No motor. No fixed speed. No outlet.

The Sprintbok V2 has no motor and no power cord. The curved deck transfers your stride force directly into belt motion — accelerate, the belt accelerates; ease back, it slows; stop pushing, it stops. There is no maximum speed cap because the unit isn't capping anything. The pace is set by how hard you push. For sprint intervals, tempo runs, and recovery jogs in the same session, that's a different feel from a fixed-speed motorized belt. It also means the treadmill can be placed anywhere — no outlet requirement, no cable run.

  • 100% self-powered — no motor, no electricity
  • Belt accelerates and decelerates with your stride
  • No fixed speed cap — pace is set by effort
  • Place anywhere — no outlet, no cable management
  • Curved deck biases foot strike toward midfoot and forefoot

Sprintbok V2 integrated display console
Display & App Sync

Real-time data on the console. App sync when you want it.

An integrated display surfaces training data — time, distance, pace, calories — directly on the console while you run. No phone required. Sync the unit to the NOHRD Connect app for session history, goal tracking, and personalized programming, or pair with the third-party running apps you already use. The Sprintbok works either way: as a standalone piece of training equipment, or as a connected device.

  • Integrated console — real-time training data without a phone
  • NOHRD Connect app for session history and goal tracking
  • Compatible with third-party running apps
  • Use standalone or connected — your choice

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The Sprintbok V2 is 100% self-powered — no motor, no power cord, no electricity required. The belt moves only when you do, and it accelerates or decelerates with your stride rather than running at a preset speed. The curved deck biases foot strike toward the midfoot and forefoot. For sprint intervals, tempo work, and pace variation within a single session, that's a different feel from a fixed-speed motorized belt — you set the pace, not the machine.
The curved deck rewards mid- and forefoot strike. Heel-striking on a curved treadmill is more difficult than on a flat motorized belt, which is intentional — the deck is designed to refine the technique that's closer to how the body runs on natural ground. Most runners adapt to the feel within the first few sessions.
The 62 wooden slats are fitted with a linoleum tread surface, which delivers grip underfoot while eliminating the vibration and rumble of a conventional rubber belt. NOHRD describes the run as quiet and free from disruptive vibrations.
Six hardwood finishes: Cherry, Oak, Walnut, Vintage, Shadow, and Club. All six share the same construction — the difference is the wood selection used for the curved frame.
No. It ships in a single package by carrier and arrives ready to use — no user assembly required.
Yes. The integrated display shows real-time training data on the console itself, and the unit syncs to the NOHRD Connect app for session history, goal tracking, and personalized programming. It also works with other third-party running apps.
The running surface is 160 × 45 cm (~63" × ~18"). Maximum user weight is 160 kg (~353 lb). The unit itself weighs 160 kg.

Wish I could have tried it out first

"1) It is difficult, when they say you burn 20% more calories, I think it’s more like 50%. It takes some getting used to pulling your foot back in order to move the tread. If you have a good speed and get comfortable and start running more up and down, you slow down. The treadmill requires you to pull back with the ball of the foot to move the tread. Of course this is more efficient running, but takes getting used to. 2) Also, after spending $7,000 on a treadmill, I was disappointed in marks and nicks in the wood from transport and packaging. 3) the computer is only in meters and kph, not mph. I emailed NOHRD support, no option for it. 4) the computer would not report distance and speed after stopping for a few minutes for an interval workout. I had to unplug the unit every time, 5 times in 30 mins, I emailed NOHRD support and was told to use a different outlet and no extension cord. Would have been nice to know that before. 5) it’s so difficult, I can only do interval training, not distance. But it has only been a week. 6) I should have bought the cherry or walnut, the club model is ok compared to my cherry water rower. Wish I spent the extra $500 for better wood. Just looks. 7) RCA shipping and customer service was amazing! I highly recommend buying from them. First transaction and it was very quick and smooth. The treadmill was in my house 2 weeks after the day I ordered it. 8) in conclusion, if you’re not an extremely efficient runner, id pass on this machine. It’s beautiful and I will use it for years and years to come, but I am not a rich person and this was quite a purchase for me. Try any manual treadmill out before purchase. I hoped to run 3-5 miles a day on it. It’s so difficult it more like 2 miles 3x week in an interval style."

Super impressed with the high

"Super impressed with the high quality of this beautiful piece of equipment. Materials are high end, aesthetic is pleasing, and function is fantastic. Looking forward to using this equipment for years to come."

Words do not describe how

"Words do not describe how much I love this treadmill. Everyone who comes over to our house is just starstruck when they see it. It is very expensive, but if I was going to spend this type of money I was going to go with Walnut wood. It has a very soft and forgiving feel, unlike other treadmills I have used so it doesn't put stress on any joints. The manual aspect allows me to go at my own pace and my trainer said it is the most similar comparison to running outside that he has encountered. It is also very QUIET that it is actually relaxing. Thank you to the team at recovery for athletes. Jared was SO helpful every step of the way. I will be buying many more pieces to go around this centerpiece :)"

Q&A

Is the distance on the nohrd sprintbok measured in miles or KM?
You can select either
How difficult is it to move the package from the delivery site (curbside?) inside to the home gym? Does doing so require two people?
It is pretty heavy but most people say it just took two people to move it. It is very easy to assemble as well.
