Wood finish

"We would have liked a glossy finish on the wood."

Beautiful but could use a redesign

"I purchased this weight bench to go with the NOHRD wall bars I'd already purchased. I wanted something functional that would also look good since I live in a condo and I don't have space for a dedicated workout area. The good is that it is attractive and solidly built (for the most part) but I was disappointed about some aspects of the bench. 1. The foam used for the bench is surprisingly soft for a weight bench. I can leave fairly deep impressions with my hands and knees when i am doing dumbbell rows on the bench. The impressions don't last long but because of that softness, I will not use the bench to do my bodyweight step ups (something I would use a bench for at a gym). I suspect that overtime, the foam will breakdown and the impressions will be permanent. 2. The adjustability of the bench is great. It's very easy to lift up the bench to do incline exercises and even the seat can adjust to another angle. The problem is that it's not as easy to lower the bench back down. There is no handle or anything to prevent you from pinching your fingers. You just have to stick your hand fully under the bench and pull the metal piece up and hold it while lowering the bench back down to flat. I haven't pinched my hand yet because I am careful not to, but I feel like it's just a matter of time. 3. Speaking of the bench back, the whole bench is almost entirely wood, or heavy duty metal EXCEPT the back of the bench that the foam and leather are attached to. That seems to be made of some kind of heavy duty cardboard-like material. It cannot support a lot of weight. I tried to do a reverse hyper by putting the bench up into an incline position and the bench in that position could not support my body weight. I could feel the bench bending slightly as I got into position and tried to lift my legs up. I weigh 210 lbs so I know that I am not a lightweight but I still think a $1000 bench should be strong enough to let me use it in that way."
