SaunaBox · Traditional Finnish Sauna · Forge 1-Person

A true 220°F Finnish dry sauna in a 1-person cabin — Harvia-powered, hemlock-lined, built for outdoor recovery ritual.

3.5kW Harvia® wall heater. 100% Canadian Hemlock interior. Black-tinted tempered glass door. FlowCore active convection ventilation. Weather-resistant construction for year-round outdoor use. Includes sauna rocks, bucket + ladle, ergonomic backrest, and foot stool.

The Forge is a traditional Finnish dry sauna — not an infrared cabin. A Harvia® 3.5kW wall heater warms the air and the sauna rocks to 220°F (104°C) at bench level; pour water over the rocks for a brief burst of steam (löyly) when you want it. The 1-person design keeps the footprint tight while the FlowCore active convection system pulls fresh air in at floor level and exhausts spent air at the ceiling — so the heat stays intense but the oxygen stays fresh. Built from 100% Canadian Hemlock with a black-tinted glass door and integrated ambient lighting, the Forge is a piece of backyard architecture engineered to endure rain, sun, and cold evenings year after year.

What makes the Forge a real Finnish sauna, not an outdoor shed with a heater

Harvia® Vega Compact 3.5kW heater

The heater is Harvia — the Finnish industry standard, not a generic non-branded resistance box. 3.5kW drives the cabin from cold to 170°F in ~25 minutes and to 220°F in ~40 minutes. Sauna rocks stacked on the heater store and radiate heat, and pour-water löyly is available whenever you want a burst of steam.

FlowCore active convection

A low intake vent moves cool air in at floor level; a ceiling vent exhausts spent, humid air out. That's a real convection loop, not a passive vent — heat distributes evenly, oxygen stays fresh through the whole session, and every breath feels like the first one.

100% Canadian Hemlock interior

Hemlock is light-toned, low-resin, low-odor, and dimensionally stable — the wood the sauna industry uses for interiors because it stays cool to the touch at high temperatures and handles moisture without warping. Also naturally aromatic and anti-microbial. Ages into character with use.

Weather-resistant, year-round outdoor build

Engineered for backyard installation — matte-black aluminum exterior and cedar framing handle rain, sun, and cold. The black-tinted tempered glass door adds privacy and a sleek architectural edge. Also installs indoors in a garage or wellness room when the weather isn't the point.

Why traditional dry heat still wins for serious recovery

Cardiovascular effort at rest

Traditional sauna heat raises heart rate and increases circulation in a way that resembles light-to-moderate cardiovascular activity. Regular use is associated with cardiovascular benefit in observational research.

Muscle recovery and reduced stiffness

Sauna heat helps relax muscles, improve blood flow, and reduce post-exercise stiffness — which is why it's a common recovery tool for athletes and active lifestyles. Warmth loosens the body and can temporarily reduce stiffness so movement feels easier after a session.

Stress reset and better sleep

Heat exposure helps the body shift into a calmer parasympathetic state — sauna sessions become a powerful tool for decompression and stress management. Many users report better sleep after a session, likely from the relaxing effect of heat and the post-session cooldown.

A ritual, not just a session

The habit stacks — hydration, recovery, mindfulness, dedicated downtime — all reinforced by a dedicated sauna ritual. The Forge is engineered as an outdoor ritual space, not a piece of gym equipment.

Outdoor architecture, not a garden shed

The matte-black aluminum exterior and cedar framing are engineered to endure — rain, sun, cold. The black-tinted tempered glass door adds privacy with a sleek edge, and integrated ambient lighting softens the interior at night. Reads as an architectural statement in the backyard, not a utility box behind the garage.

SaunaBox Forge Canadian Hemlock interior with Harvia heater

Harvia heater, hemlock walls, sauna rocks

The interior is 100% Canadian Hemlock — the wood chosen for its low-resin behavior at high temperatures and its natural aroma. The Harvia 3.5kW heater sits mounted to the wall, sauna rocks stacked on top. Pour water over the rocks for a burst of löyly steam whenever you want it.

Installation & setup

01

Prepare a level surface

Any level, load-bearing base: concrete pad, composite or pressure-treated deck, pavers, compacted gravel, or an indoor floor rated for the unit's weight. Do not place directly on soil or grass. The Forge weighs 214 kg / 471.8 lb assembled.

02

Move the crate on-site

The Forge ships via LTL freight in a single consolidated plywood crate — gross shipping weight 259 kg / 571 lb. A forklift or pallet jack is required to move the crate from the delivery point to the installation location.

03

Assemble the cabin

Setup takes approximately 1–2 hours. Two people recommended — one for positioning, one for connections. No specialized tools required beyond basic hand tools.

04

Wire the heater (licensed electrician)

The Forge is hardwired to a dedicated 240V circuit — typically a 20A double-pole breaker; heater draws 14.4A at operating load. Not a plug-in appliance, no cord included. Must be connected by a licensed electrician; confirm exact breaker size with local codes.

Frequently asked questions

This is a traditional Finnish dry sauna — not infrared. The Harvia Vega Compact heater warms the air and the sauna rocks to temperatures up to 220°F (104°C). You can pour water over the rocks for a brief burst of steam (löyly), but the primary experience is high-temperature dry heat. Infrared saunas heat your body directly at lower ambient temperatures. If you want the authentic Finnish sauna experience — intense heat, optional steam, high-temperature bathing ritual — the Forge is the right choice.

From a cold start: 170°F in approximately 25 minutes, 220°F in approximately 40 minutes. In extreme cold outdoor climates, heat-up may take slightly longer than the stated benchmarks.

Yes — the Forge is designed for year-round outdoor use. The matte-black aluminum exterior and cedar framing handle rain, cold, and UV exposure. It also installs equally well indoors — garage, basement, dedicated wellness room. In extreme cold climates, expect slightly longer heat-up times outdoors.

Yes. The Forge is hardwired to a dedicated 240V circuit — no cord, no plug — and must be connected by a licensed electrician. Typical protection: 20A double-pole breaker; heater draws 14.4A at operating load. Confirm exact breaker size with your local electrician and Authority Having Jurisdiction, since local codes vary. One-time installation.

Any level, load-bearing surface — concrete pad, composite or pressure-treated deck, pavers, compacted gravel, or an indoor floor rated for the weight. The Forge weighs 214 kg / 471.8 lb assembled. Do not place directly on soil or grass without a proper base.

Cabin assembly takes about 1–2 hours with two people — one for positioning, one for connections. Only basic hand tools required. The 240V hardwired connection is handled separately by your licensed electrician.

One. Interior 1.00 m wide × 0.96 m deep × 1.85 m tall (39.4 × 37.8 × 72.8 in). Single ergonomic bench. Standing height inside is 6' 2". Rated for user weight up to ~300 lb.

FlowCore is the Forge's active convection airflow system. A low intake vent moves air at floor level; a ceiling exhaust vent expels spent air. That creates a continuous convection loop that keeps heat distribution even and oxygen fresh through the whole session — a real vent system, not a passive gap.

Harvia heater, sauna rocks, bucket + ladle for löyly, ergonomic backrest, and foot stool. Everything needed for the first session is in the crate.

2-year cabin warranty on the structural frame, exterior cladding, interior wood, door, hardware, and all cabin components against manufacturing defects. 1-year warranty on the Harvia Vega Compact heater against material and workmanship defects under normal use. Damage from improper installation, use outside electrical specs, or normal weathering is not covered.
