This is a traditional Finnish dry sauna — not infrared. The Harvia Vega Compact heater warms the air and the sauna rocks to temperatures up to 220°F (104°C). You can pour water over the rocks for a brief burst of steam (löyly), but the primary experience is high-temperature dry heat. Infrared saunas heat your body directly at lower ambient temperatures. If you want the authentic Finnish sauna experience — intense heat, optional steam, high-temperature bathing ritual — the Forge is the right choice.

From a cold start: 170°F in approximately 25 minutes, 220°F in approximately 40 minutes. In extreme cold outdoor climates, heat-up may take slightly longer than the stated benchmarks.
