Radial pressure waves, generated pneumatically. A compressor inside the housing fires a projectile down a guiding tube in the R-SW handpiece, and the projectile strikes the back of a transmitter head held against the skin. Output is metered in bar, 1 to 5 bar, while the focused Intelect Focus Shockwave meters in mJ/mm2 and shares no part of this hardware.

Orthopedics, rheumatology, physical medicine, physiotherapy, acupuncture, athletic training, podiatry or chiropractic care. Suitable hearing protection is recommended for the operator and the patient.

The device must not be used with: malignant tumors in the treatment area; a fetus in the treatment area; swollen or inflamed areas or skin eruptions; unexplained calf pain; children, unconscious patients, or those unable to consent; wounds, infected areas, skin tumors, open sores or recent surgical scars. Avoid areas near large nerves, vessels, the spine or the head, and keep the handpiece moving over the treatment area because concentrated repetitive pulses risk bruising.

The kit ships with the R-SW handpiece applicator set, a US shockwave power cord and the R-SW CD user manual. The applicator set's foam-lined case holds the R-SW handpiece, the Ro40 Beam D-ACTOR transmitter at 15 mm, the D20-S standard D-ACTOR transmitter at 20 mm, two wrenches and the long revision kit. The V-ACTOR II vibration handpiece set is sold separately.

Nine D-ACTOR family heads: T10, C15, DI15, F15, D20-S, D20-T, D35-S, Atlas and Ro40, all of which share the same screw fitting on the R-SW handpiece. Every head that fits one radial machine fits the other.

The R-SW handpiece set and the V-ACTOR II vibration handpiece set, the V-ACTOR II with a 31 Hz ceiling, running the V25 and V40 transmitters. The FALCON and the V-ACTOR HF belong to the Intelect RPW 2.

Two years on the device from the date of original consumer purchase, two years or three million shocks on the handpiece, whichever occurs first, and one year or one million shocks on shock transmitters. Excluded are parts or labour furnished by anyone other than the company, the selling dealer or a certified company service technician, and consumables.

Approximately 3,500 hours for the control device, approximately 5 million shocks for the R-SW handpiece and approximately 5 million pulses for the V-ACTOR handpiece. The revision kit replaces the projectile, guiding tube and sealing set inside the handpiece, and the shaft cushion is the other part that goes in normal use.

Input is 100 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz, a maximum of 200 VA, through a T4AL/250 VAC fuse. The control device weighs 18 lb (8.2 kg) in a 490 x 290 x 400 mm housing, with ingress protection of IPX1 on the control device and IPX0 on the handpieces. The operating range is 10 to 40 deg C, storage is 0 to 60 deg C and frost free, and humidity runs 5 to 95 percent non-condensing.

The hardware and the standard accessory list are the same either way. Buying new makes you the original consumer purchaser, so all three warranty terms run their full length from the date of your purchase. On the open-box Mobile 2 RPW the warranty runs from the date of that unit's original consumer purchase.
