Ready To Roll & Recover

Hyperice Vyper 3 Vibrating Foam Roller

The Vyper 3 is a full-length roller with a motor inside it. The body measures 13 × 5.4 × 5.4 in and weighs 2.7 lbs, so it covers a whole quad or a whole length of thoracic spine in one pass, and a high-torque 34W motor drives three speeds of vibration through the shell while you roll.

The shell itself is contour-designed eco-friendly polypropylene. The contours are the part people notice second: they break up the surface so the roller does not press flat against the spine and other bony areas. Battery life is up to 2 hours per charge, and the roller pairs over Bluetooth to the Hyperice App for guided sessions and automated speed control.

What Is Actually Inside The Roller

A foam roller with no motor gives you one variable: how hard you lean on it. The Vyper 3 adds a second one. Here is what Hyperice publishes about the hardware, and what it does not.

⚙️
High-torque 34W motor
Torque is the figure that matters under bodyweight. A roller carries your full mass while the motor keeps working, which is a different demand from a handheld device pressed against a muscle by hand.

🔊
3 speeds of vibration
Three settings, cycled from the single button on the end cap. Hyperice publishes no vibration frequency in Hz or RPM for any speed, so read the three settings as low, middle and high.

Accelerated design
The shell is contour-designed eco-friendly polypropylene. Raised sections carry the load and recessed channels sit over the spine, which is what lets you roll the length of your back without the roller pressing on the vertebrae.

Bluetooth and the Hyperice App
The Vyper 3 connects over Bluetooth to the Hyperice App, which runs guided sessions and changes the speed for you as the session moves from one muscle group to the next. The roller works fully without a phone.

Three Details Worth Seeing

Speed

One button, three speeds of vibration

Everything you control on the Vyper 3 lives on the end cap. Press to wake it, press again to move up through the three speeds. There is no display and no dial, which is deliberate on a device you operate while lying on top of it.

  • Speed: 3 speeds of vibration, cycled from one button
  • Motor: high-torque 34W, the figure Hyperice publishes for this roller
  • Battery: up to 2 hours of run time on a full charge
  • No frequency in Hz or RPM is published for any speed

The surface is the reason the contours exist

Hyperice describes the Vyper 3 shell as contour-designed eco-friendly polypropylene, built to avoid pressure on the spine and other sensitive areas. In practice that means the raised bands take your weight while the recessed channels pass over bone, so a long roll down the back stays on muscle.

  • Contour-designed eco-friendly polypropylene shell
  • Raised and recessed sections across the whole surface
  • Size: 13 × 5.4 × 5.4 in, a full-length roller diameter
  • Weight: 2.7 lbs, light enough to move room to room

What's Included

What comes in the box

Three items, and the third one tells you who Hyperice expects to buy this. An 18V wall charger handles the power supply, and three additional plug adapters ship alongside it so the roller charges in whichever country the season takes you to.

  • Vyper 3: the roller itself
  • Power supply: an 18V wall charger to keep the device charged and ready to go
  • Additional plug adapters (3): to charge your device no matter where you are
  • TSA friendly, so the whole kit travels in carry-on

Vibrating Rollers And Spheres

Hyperice builds four vibrating self-massage tools. Two are rollers, two are spheres, and the choice comes down to how much surface you want to cover in one pass against how precisely you want to press on one spot.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Weight 2.7 lbs. Battery up to 2 hours. Size 13 × 5.4 × 5.4 in. Motor high-torque 34W. Speed 3 speeds of vibration. Bluetooth connection to the Hyperice App. The full specification list also lives in the Specs tab on this page.
Three. Hyperice lists the Vyper 3 as having 3 speeds of vibration and cycles them from the single button on the end cap. No vibration frequency in Hz or RPM is published for any of the three, so the settings are relative to each other.
A high-torque 34W motor. Wattage is the only motor figure Hyperice publishes for this roller, and 34W is more than the 26W in the compact Vyper Go, which matches the larger body it has to drive.
Hyperice states up to 2 hours of battery life on a full charge. That is total run time with the motor going, not standby time. Hyperice publishes no charge time for the Vyper 3, so plan a recharge overnight.
Size is 13 × 5.4 × 5.4 in and weight is 2.7 lbs. The 5.4 in diameter is standard foam-roller size, so pressure and body position work the same way they do on a roller you already own. The 13 in length spans a full quadriceps or one side of the upper back.
Hyperice describes the roller as a contour-designed, eco-friendly polypropylene body. The contouring is functional: the recessed sections keep the roller off the spine and other sensitive areas during a long pass down the back.
It connects the Vyper 3 to the Hyperice App, which runs guided sessions and handles automated speed control, changing the setting as a session moves from one muscle group to the next. Pairing is optional. Every speed is reachable from the button on the roller.
Three items. The Vyper 3 itself, a power supply in the form of an 18V wall charger, and additional plug adapters (3) so the roller charges on the plug standard of wherever you happen to be.
Hyperice lists the Vyper 3 as TSA friendly. At 13 in long and 2.7 lbs it fits a carry-on, and the three plug adapters in the box are there because Hyperice expects it to fly. Rules are set by the security agency at your departure airport, so check locally if you are travelling somewhere unusual.
Hyperice lists the Vyper 3 as FSA/HSA eligible. Individual plans differ on what they reimburse, so confirm with your administrator before you buy if the pre-tax treatment is what decides it for you.
Size and motor. The Vyper 3 runs 13 × 5.4 × 5.4 in on a 34W motor at 2.7 lbs. The Vyper Go is the compact one at 10.6 × 3.9 × 3.9 in on a 26W motor at 2 lbs. Both give three speeds and both pair to the Hyperice App. Pick the Vyper 3 if it lives at home, the Go if it lives in a bag.
The roller covers area, the sphere covers points. A 13 in cylinder sweeps a whole quad, IT band or lat in one movement. A 5 in ball concentrates the same vibration into a much smaller contact patch for one specific spot, and reaches places a cylinder cannot, like the sole of the foot or the space beside the shoulder blade.
Yes. The button on the end cap powers the roller and cycles all 3 speeds. The Hyperice App adds guided sessions and automated speed control on top of that, over a Bluetooth connection.
Worth knowing before you compare it against another brand's spec sheet: Hyperice publishes no vibration frequency in Hz or RPM, no charge time, no auto shut-off timer and no warranty term for this roller. The figures they do publish are weight, size, motor wattage, battery life and speed count, and every one of those appears on this page.

Hyperice Viper 3

"Hyperice Viper3 is great massage device to soothe all aces and pains."

Ronald L. (5/5)

Greater machine

"I had the first one before til it broke down on me. So I bought the newer model. It works the same. I do recommend it"

Randy P. (5/5)

Easy to use, has helped a ton

"Very simple to use, one button to power on and change the vibration settings. Great for the back but also helps to relieve cramped or inflamed muscles. You can connect it up to the app and follow different videos and trainer led routines for loosening hips, preparing for a workout etc. The Vyper will automatically change settings based on the routine you’re following. I wouldn’t recommend this over a Theragun or Hyperice Volt, I don’t know that I could do a lot of the training that I do without one of those devices. This is a really good companion but can’t replace and Theragun/Volt"
