K-Force Plates, the standing half

The K-Force Plates are the pair Kinvent list at up to approximately 600 kg per platform, and they are where balance, posture and force distribution get measured. Centre of pressure and CoP velocity describe how accurately posture is held, the confidence ellipse puts a number on sway, and the Romberg test compares eyes open against eyes closed. This pack supplies them with frames, which hold the two plates in a fixed relationship so a stance set up on Monday can be reproduced on Friday.

The K-Deltas are the large-surface pair, and their published numbers are what make a fast task readable: 2000 kg per platform, an accuracy figure of ±0.1%, a sampling rate of 1000 Hz and 2000 Hz for full centre of pressure, and 20 hours of continuous operation per charge. Take-off in a countermovement jump is over in a fraction of a second, so the sample rate decides whether impulse and the shape of the force build survive into the analysis. Owning both systems means a standing trial and a landing go on the equipment each was categorised for, on the same visit.
