Osaki | Platinum OP-4D Master
The Osaki Platinum OP-4D Master is a 4D massage chair built around one of the most complete air systems Osaki fits to a single-mechanism platform. 46 air cells run the length of the chair, wrapping your arms, hips, calves and feet while the 4D mechanism works your back along a laser-crafted steel SL-track. Ten of those cells are grouped in the shoulder assembly, where they inflate in sequence so the compression rotates and travels across the top of the shoulder, and a separate massage node on each side of the shoulder pad presses into the trapezius directly. Osaki builds this as their first over-the-shoulder massage running on airbag compression.
Fit is automatic at both ends of the chair. An automatic body scan measures your shoulder height and width at the start of a session and repositions the rollers so the stroke lands along your shoulder line, and the footrest extends on its own to the length of your leg so your calf drops into the calf well and your sole meets the foot plate. Muscle tension detection adds a third reading: the perceptive health pro program scans your torso and shapes how hard the chair presses and where it concentrates. Sixteen auto programs and 6 massage styles sit on top of all of it, and you can run them four ways, from the swivel-mounted touchscreen, the side control panel, the Osaki Premium 4D+ Master app on iPhone or Android, or an Alexa device. The OP-4D Master weighs 254.6 lb, takes a user up to 260 lb, and comes in Black, Brown and Taupe.
Inside the chair
Air does as much of the work as the rollers on this chair, with 46 cells in total and ten of them sitting over your shoulders, all of it riding the same laser-crafted steel SL-track the rest of the Platinum single-mechanism line runs.
The list
Eight features that decide whether the OP-4D Master is the Platinum chair to take, every one of them standard on all three colors.
Closer look
46 air cells cover the parts of your body the roller track cannot reach. They inflate around your arms, hips, legs and feet, and ten of them sit in the shoulder assembly, firing in sequence so the pressure rolls across the top of your shoulder. Two massage nodes, one on each side of the shoulder pad, press into the trapezius directly, which is a different sensation from air compression and reaches a point air can only squeeze. Between the roller track down the center and the air cells on either side of it, the OP-4D Master covers back, arms, hips, calves and feet inside a single program.
The OP-4D Master sizes itself to you at both ends of the chair, and you press nothing to make it happen. At the top, an automatic body scan reads your shoulder height and width and moves the rollers so the stroke lands along your shoulder line and not above or below it. At the bottom, the footrest extends to the length of your leg, dropping your calf into the calf well and your sole onto the foot plate. Between the two, the chair adapts from a short user to a tall one with no manual latch or adjustment at either end, which matters in a household where more than one person uses it.
Zero gravity reclining and space saving technology are both built in, and the dimensions show what the space saving buys you. Upright, the OP-4D Master measures 30.5 in. wide by 68.0 in. long by 50.5 in. tall. Fully reclined it measures 30.5 in. by 72.0 in. by 42.0 in. The chair gains only 4 in. of length across the full recline while its height drops 8.5 in., because the base slides forward as the backrest goes down, so the chair does not travel backwards into the room. Width holds at 30.5 in. throughout, which is also the minimum doorway width you need to get it in.
Compare
All three run a single 4D mechanism on an SL-track with muscle tension detection, zero gravity and a 260 lb user limit. The OP-4D Master is the air chair of the three, with 46 cells and an automatic footrest; the other two lead on where the heat sits.

"I can't express how thrilled I am with my purchase of the massage chair. After a long day at work, all I want to do is sink into this chair and let it work its magic. The massage options are incredibly diverse, and I love how I can customize each session to target specific areas of tension. The heated feature is a game-changer, especially during the colder months. I've never felt so relaxed at home! The zero-gravity function makes me feel like I'm floating on a cloud, and the built-in speakers allow me to enjoy my favorite music while unwinding. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's an investment in my well-being that's worth every penny. I can't recommend the Osaki OP-4D Master Massage Chair enough."
