Osaki | Platinum OP-4D Master

Osaki Platinum 4D Master Massage Chair

The Osaki Platinum OP-4D Master is a 4D massage chair built around one of the most complete air systems Osaki fits to a single-mechanism platform. 46 air cells run the length of the chair, wrapping your arms, hips, calves and feet while the 4D mechanism works your back along a laser-crafted steel SL-track. Ten of those cells are grouped in the shoulder assembly, where they inflate in sequence so the compression rotates and travels across the top of the shoulder, and a separate massage node on each side of the shoulder pad presses into the trapezius directly. Osaki builds this as their first over-the-shoulder massage running on airbag compression.

Fit is automatic at both ends of the chair. An automatic body scan measures your shoulder height and width at the start of a session and repositions the rollers so the stroke lands along your shoulder line, and the footrest extends on its own to the length of your leg so your calf drops into the calf well and your sole meets the foot plate. Muscle tension detection adds a third reading: the perceptive health pro program scans your torso and shapes how hard the chair presses and where it concentrates. Sixteen auto programs and 6 massage styles sit on top of all of it, and you can run them four ways, from the swivel-mounted touchscreen, the side control panel, the Osaki Premium 4D+ Master app on iPhone or Android, or an Alexa device. The OP-4D Master weighs 254.6 lb, takes a user up to 260 lb, and comes in Black, Brown and Taupe.

Inside the chair

The Compression Chair of the Platinum Group

Air does as much of the work as the rollers on this chair, with 46 cells in total and ten of them sitting over your shoulders, all of it riding the same laser-crafted steel SL-track the rest of the Platinum single-mechanism line runs.

💨
46 Air Cell Compression
The 4D rollers work a line down the center of your back, and the air system covers everything on either side of it. 46 cells inflate and release around your arms, hips, calves, feet and shoulders, reaching the limbs the roller track has no path to. The cells are grouped and fired in sequence, so compression travels along a limb from one end to the other, and the arm sleeves and the calf wells hold the limb in place while it happens.

👤
Ten Airbags Over the Shoulder
Ten individual airbags sit in the shoulder assembly, above your shoulder line, and they fire in a set order so the squeeze arrives from the top down onto the trapezius while the 4D rollers work either side of your spine below. A separate massage node on each side of the shoulder pad adds a firm point of contact that air on its own cannot make. Between the ten bags and the two nodes, the shoulder section carries twelve separate points of contact, and they run inside the same program as the back rollers.

🧠
Muscle Tension Detection
The perceptive health pro program takes a reading across your torso before the massage begins and uses it to set how hard the chair presses and where it concentrates. It works as automated program selection, so there is nothing to dial in by hand. The OP-4D Master is a consumer massage chair and the reading is not a diagnosis.

📏
Laser-Crafted Steel SL-Track
The SL-track is laser-crafted steel and carries the rollers in one continuous curve from your neck and shoulders, through the lower back, and down to the hamstrings. There is no break at the hips where the spine meets the seat, so a single stroke that starts at your neck finishes past your glutes. The extended track shape is what separates an SL-track massage chair from an S-track, which stops at the lower back.

Ten Air Cells Roll Pressure Across Your Shoulder

Two Nodes Press Into the Trapezius Directly

46 air cells cover the parts of your body the roller track cannot reach. They inflate around your arms, hips, legs and feet, and ten of them sit in the shoulder assembly, firing in sequence so the pressure rolls across the top of your shoulder. Two massage nodes, one on each side of the shoulder pad, press into the trapezius directly, which is a different sensation from air compression and reaches a point air can only squeeze. Between the roller track down the center and the air cells on either side of it, the OP-4D Master covers back, arms, hips, calves and feet inside a single program.

  • 46 air cell compression across the body
  • 10 synchronized airbags in the over-the-shoulder assembly
  • One shoulder massage node on each side of the pad
  • Shoulder width 24.5 in., seat width 18 in.

Fit

The Chair Sizes Itself at Both Ends

The OP-4D Master sizes itself to you at both ends of the chair, and you press nothing to make it happen. At the top, an automatic body scan reads your shoulder height and width and moves the rollers so the stroke lands along your shoulder line and not above or below it. At the bottom, the footrest extends to the length of your leg, dropping your calf into the calf well and your sole onto the foot plate. Between the two, the chair adapts from a short user to a tall one with no manual latch or adjustment at either end, which matters in a household where more than one person uses it.

  • Automatic body scan for shoulder height and width
  • Rollers reposition to the scanned shoulder line
  • Automatic footrest sets its own length to the leg
  • Maximum user weight 260 lb
Automatic shoulder adjustment Automatic footrest

Space Saving: Four Inches of Recline Growth

Zero gravity reclining and space saving technology are both built in, and the dimensions show what the space saving buys you. Upright, the OP-4D Master measures 30.5 in. wide by 68.0 in. long by 50.5 in. tall. Fully reclined it measures 30.5 in. by 72.0 in. by 42.0 in. The chair gains only 4 in. of length across the full recline while its height drops 8.5 in., because the base slides forward as the backrest goes down, so the chair does not travel backwards into the room. Width holds at 30.5 in. throughout, which is also the minimum doorway width you need to get it in.

  • Upright 30.5 in. W x 68.0 in. L x 50.5 in. H
  • Reclined 30.5 in. W x 72.0 in. L x 42.0 in. H
  • Length grows 4 in. from upright to fully reclined

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

46 air cell compression, the widest air coverage of the three Osaki Platinum single-mechanism chairs. Ten of those cells sit in the over-the-shoulder assembly. The rest wrap your arms, hips, legs and feet.
No. This one is Lumbar Heat Therapy only, from a fixed pad at your low back. If you want warmth at your feet as well, the chair in this group that has it is the Osaki Platinum Ai Xrest 4D+, with Feet & Lumbar Heat Therapy.
16 auto programs and 6 massage styles. Sixteen auto programs is double the 8 you get on the Osaki 4D Pro Maestro LE 2.0, and it matches the count on the Platinum Ai Xrest 4D+. The 6 styles are the techniques you pick by hand when you want one part of your back worked a particular way.
An airbag assembly that sits above your shoulder line, and Osaki call it the first of its kind on their chairs. Ten individual airbags synchronize, so the squeeze builds across the top of your shoulder and releases in the order it arrived. Separately, a massage node on each side of the shoulder pad presses into the trapezius with a firm point of contact, and it runs in the same program as the airbags above it.
Two automatic systems. An automatic body scan finds your shoulder height and width and moves the rollers to suit. An automatic footrest extends to the length of your leg. The frame around them is 24.5 in. across the shoulders and 18 in. across the seat, with a 260 lb maximum user weight.
The chair runs a perceptive health pro program that takes a reading across your torso and tailors the massage from it. It is how the chair picks a program for you without you scrolling a menu. It is not a medical device and the reading is not a diagnosis.
Both. The Osaki Premium 4D+ Master app is on the App Store and Google Play with the full remote feature set. Voice control runs through Alexa on the set commands in the manual. On the chair itself you get a touchscreen controller on a swivel mount that angles to wherever you are sitting, plus a side control panel.
An attachable magnetic pillow, negative oxygen ions, Bluetooth surround sound speakers, a phone charging surface, a USB charging port and LED mood lighting.
Upright: 30.5 in. W x 68.0 in. L x 50.5 in. H. Reclined: 30.5 in. W x 72.0 in. L x 42.0 in. H. You lose just 4 in. of extra length across the full recline while the height drops 8.5 in., and the width stays at 30.5 in. in both positions, which is the figure to measure your doorway against.
Plan on 30.5 in., the same as the chair's width in either position. Measure the whole route while you are at it. Stair turns and hallway corners catch more deliveries than door frames do.
The chair weighs 254.6 lb and takes a user up to 260 lb, roughly ten pounds heavier than the Maestro LE 2.0 at the same 260 lb user limit.
A session runs 15 minutes. It plugs into a standard household outlet, 110 to 120 V at 50/60 Hz.
Three: Black, Brown and Taupe. Same chair underneath all three, with the same 46 air cells, the same 16 auto programs and the same automatic footrest.

Worth every penny

"I can't express how thrilled I am with my purchase of the massage chair. After a long day at work, all I want to do is sink into this chair and let it work its magic. The massage options are incredibly diverse, and I love how I can customize each session to target specific areas of tension. The heated feature is a game-changer, especially during the colder months. I've never felt so relaxed at home! The zero-gravity function makes me feel like I'm floating on a cloud, and the built-in speakers allow me to enjoy my favorite music while unwinding. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's an investment in my well-being that's worth every penny. I can't recommend the Osaki OP-4D Master Massage Chair enough."
