Chattanooga TX Traction Kit

Chattanooga Traction Kit: TX Traction Unit, Quickwrap Belt, Saunders Cervical, and Traction Stool

The Chattanooga Traction Kit: TX Traction Unit, Quickwrap Belt, Saunders Cervical, and Traction Stool is a complete mechanical traction kit, ordered as one: the TX Traction Unit, the QuikWrap Belting System, the Saunders Clinical Cervical Traction System with its clevis, and a two-section Traction Flexion Stool. The TX head generates and holds the pull, from 0 to 200 lb (0 to 90 kg) in 1 lb increments. The QuikWrap belting carries lumbar and pelvic traction, and the Saunders device takes cervical traction at the base of the occiput. The stool sets the patient's legs beside the table, and only the traction table is bought separately.

The TX head runs static, intermittent and cyclic modes, with a traction period of 1 to 99 minutes in 1 minute steps, hold and rest of 0 to 99 seconds each in 1 second steps, and progressive and regressive steps of 1 to 9. The high contrast monochrome touch screen pivots 270 deg and reads from either side of the table, and it stores up to 10 user-defined treatment protocols. The kit mounts on the traction arm common across the Galaxy and Triton tables.

In the kit

How it works

The head makes and measures the force, the belting and the cervical device carry it to the patient, and the stool sets the legs.

TX Traction Unit
The traction head sets and holds its pull against a load cell, in static, intermittent and cyclic modes, on a monochrome touch screen that pivots 270 deg and stores ten user-defined protocols.
Load cell
QuikWrap Belting System
The lumbar and pelvic interface: a thoracic belt, a pelvic belt and a pelvic belt extender. The set is a universal fit and is rated for pelvic or lumbar traction applications up to 300 lb. Spares and extenders carry the QuikWrap name.
Universal fit
Saunders Clinical Cervical Traction System
The Saunders cervical applicator takes the pull at the base of the occiput through a head pad, a neck carriage on a track, wedges and a head strap.
Clevis included
Traction Flexion Stool
The height-adjustable two-section stool carries the patient's legs beside the table, so the hips and knees can be set in flexion or left neutral for a supine pull.
Two sections

TX Traction Kit

Key features

The kit keeps patient records on cards, holds the neck without a halter and sets the legs on a stool in six colours.

Patient Data Cards
Five cards ship with the head, each holding up to 14 treatment sessions, enough to keep five patients on a rolling course of treatment without keying parameters in twice.
No head halter
The Saunders device holds cervical traction at the base of the occiput, with no head halter in the setup.
Knees up, hips down
The stool's two seat sections adjust independently, so the knees can be raised without lifting the hips.
A stool in six colours
Beige, Black, Blue, Graphite, Grey or Imperial Blue, with the same head, belting and cervical device in every one.

The range

How it compares

This kit is the TX unit supplied with its accessories, so its unit figures are the TX's. The head alone suits a clinic that owns belting and a cervical applicator, and the Triton adds a colour screen and more protocol memory.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Four items: the TX Traction Unit, the QuikWrap Belting System, the Saunders Clinical Cervical Traction System with its clevis, and a two-section Traction Flexion Stool in the colour you select. Inside the TX carton: the unit, five Patient Data Cards, the Patient Interrupt Switch and its hook kit, the securing bracket, an 80 in. mains cord and the User Manual.

The one you pick, from six stool colours; nothing else in the kit changes with it.

No. The Saunders Clinical Cervical Traction System includes its clevis, and that system is one of the four items in this kit. The clevis is sold on its own as well, which for a buyer of this kit means a spare, or the part that lets a second table take the same cervical device.

A traction table and a clinic outlet. The head bolts to a traction table or a table-mounted traction pedestal on the securing bracket in the carton: the Galaxy TTET-300 (three sections), the Galaxy TTET-400 (four sections), the Triton 6M and the Triton 6E, each sold separately. The TX runs on 100 V to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, 75 VA, 3.2 A max, and the head measures 9.5 x 17.5 x 17.5 in. (24 x 45 x 45 cm) at 30 lb (14 kg).

Yes, with its hook kit. The TX will not function without the Patient Interrupt Switch in the patient's grasp throughout the traction therapy, so test the cable before each use. The replacement switch is part 48082.

Traction is contraindicated for a list that includes structural disease from tumor or infection; vascular compromise; acute strains, sprains, inflammation; joint instability; pregnancy; osteoporosis; hiatus hernia; claustrophobia; and cardiac or pulmonary problems. The clinician setting the head has to have read the instructions before running a treatment, and chooses the pull, the mode, the traction period, the hold and rest times and the step counts.

The TX head carries a two-year warranty. Annual factory calibration is required for TX traction units, and the traction cord should be inspected for wear before every use. The replacement cord is part 48031.

The Triton equivalent is the Advanced Accessory Package: the Triton DTS unit, the QuikWrap belting, a pair of knee bolsters, a Stabilizer pressure biofeedback unit and the same Saunders cervical device. The Basic package drops the Saunders device and the biofeedback unit; those two items are the whole difference between the two packages. Neither Triton package includes a stool.

Yes. The TX Traction Kit with Bolsters carries the same head, belting and Saunders cervical device with the Knee Bolster Set in place of the flexion stool, and it is the bolster variant of the TX Traction Unit. The Knee Bolster Set is also sold on its own, and a clinic that wants both the stool and the bolster can buy this kit and add the set separately.
