Chattanooga Triton 6M Traction Table

The Chattanooga Triton 6M Traction Table is a six-section traction table built for manual therapy and traction work on one top. Gas springs carry the head, chest, pelvic and leg sections, so one clinician sets each of them by hand from either side of the table. A single electric column lifts the whole top from 19 to 37 in., worked from a foot and hand controller with a lockable safety mechanism. Tuck-away grab bars hold the patient for hanging traction without a thoracic restraint. Its traction head comes separately, on its own or inside a Basic or Advanced accessory package.

The table measures 90.5 x 37 x 31 in., with an 85.4 in. table length, a 27.5 in. cushion width and 109.8 in. of length once the traction arm is fitted. The head section runs -15 deg to +40 deg, the pelvic section tilts 0 deg to 15 deg for lumbar flexion, and the leg section runs 0 deg to 45 deg with 4 in. of leg displacement. Section lengths are 28 in. head and back, 8.6 in. middle, 10 in. pelvic and 30 in. leg.

Any of three heads fits the arm: the Triton DTS, the Triton or the TX. Belting, the cervical traction system, bolsters and the flexion stool are ordered alongside the table.

The table

How it works

The 6M lifts on one electric column, with gas springs under four hand-set sections and a controller that locks between patients.

Gas springs on an electric column
The column is powered and the four articulating sections are counterbalanced on gas springs, so a clinician sets head, chest, pelvic and leg positions by hand and drives only the height from the controller. The movement is smooth and friction-free from either side of the table.

Height is set from a foot and hand controller with a lockable safety mechanism, so the column can be locked between patients and held steady while a treatment runs.

Pelvic tilt for lumbar flexion
The 10 in. pelvic section tilts 0 deg to 15 deg to help promote lumbar spine flexion, and the headpiece adjusts from -15 deg to +40 deg for easy access to the thoracic and cervical regions.

No. The table is sold on its own, and the head-end arm takes the Triton DTS Traction Unit inside the Basic or Advanced accessory package, the Triton Traction Unit or the TX Traction Unit. Every head needs its own patient interrupt switch in the patient's grasp before it will run, and the switch follows the head, not the table.

The Basic package holds the Triton DTS traction unit, the QuikWrap DTS belt set and a pair of knee bolsters. The Advanced package adds the Stabilizer pressure biofeedback unit and the Clinical Cervical Traction System. The Triton DTS unit stores up to 80 user-defined protocols and pulls 0 to 200 lb in 1 lb steps.

The QuikWrap DTS Belt Set, rated for pelvic or lumbar traction applications up to 300 lb. The Deluxe Universal Belt System is a separate product, with a thoracic belt, a pelvic belt and a pelvic belt extender, and it goes on in two minutes.
