Osaki | Platinum Solis Duo 4D+
The Osaki Platinum Solis 4D is a 4D massage chair built on a dual mechanism and a flexible track, and the track is the part that separates it from the rest of the Osaki range. A standard SL-track holds the seat base at a fixed angle to the backrest, which caps how far a chair can open out. The Solis flex track releases that angle, so the chair reclines past 180 degrees and opens into a 190 degree spinal decompression stretch with your hips anchored and the backrest traveling beyond flat. Two separate mechanism controllers run the dual mechanism, and the 4D mechanism gives you control of depth and speed on top of the massage style.
Around the rollers sits one of the larger air systems Osaki fits to a chair, with 54 air cells wrapping your shoulders, arms, hips, calves and feet. The footrest carries two foot rollers under each foot and one spinning calf roller against each calf, on a calf rest that runs 13.5 in. long, and it extends itself up to 5 in. to match your leg. You get 18 auto programs and 5 manual massage styles, reachable from the touchscreen controller, the side control panels, or intelligent voice recognition using the commands in the manual. The Solis weighs 286.0 lb, takes a user up to 330 lb, and comes in Black, Brown and Taupe.
Inside the chair
A flexible track, a 4D dual mechanism with two separate controllers, and 54 air cells around them, which is what a 190 degree stretch takes to build.
The list
Eight features that decide whether the Platinum Solis 4D is the Osaki chair to take, all of them standard across Black, Brown and Taupe.
Closer look
The flexible track is the single feature that puts the Solis in a different category from the SL-track chairs around it. A conventional SL-track massage chair holds the seat base and the backrest in a fixed relationship, so the furthest the chair can go is flat. The Solis releases that hinge and keeps the roller path continuous while the geometry changes, which is how the backrest reaches 190 degrees with your hips still anchored in the seat. Two separate mechanism controllers manage the dual mechanism through the movement, and the 4D mechanism keeps working the back at the depth and speed you set.
54 air cells run the length of the Solis and cover your shoulders, arms, hips, calves and feet, so a program that starts at the rollers finishes at the soles. The footrest is where the Solis puts most of its hardware, with two foot rollers under each foot and one spinning calf roller against each calf, six rollers below the knee in total, every one of them cut with reflexology ridges. The calf rest measures 13.5 in., which is longer than the calf section on a typical chair and covers more of the calf on a taller user. Extension is automatic and runs up to 5 in., so the footrest finds your leg length before the program begins.
Zero gravity reclining and space saving technology are both built in, and the space saving is what makes an 81 in. reclined length workable in a normal room. Upright, the Solis measures 30.0 in. W x 63.0 in. L x 48.4 in. H. Fully reclined it measures 30.0 in. W x 81.0 in. L x 37.4 in. H. The base slides forward as the backrest goes down, so the chair only needs 10 in. of gap behind it to reach a complete recline, and the 18 in. of length it gains all happens in front of the chair. Width holds at 30.0 in. in both positions, which is also the minimum doorway you need for delivery.
Compare
The Solis is the flex track chair of this group, the only one here that reclines past flat into a 190 degree stretch. The two Duo chairs run bigger air systems and much larger program libraries, and the Platinum 4D Master is the single mechanism option.

"The Solis looks sleek, but WOW does it do a number with the stretch function. Definitely the best stretch on the market. Loved everything about it, from the deep back massage to the foot rollers. So good for an aching lower back!"
"The super stretch is by far the best feature of the chair. No other chair out there has the depth of this one and it really relieved a lot of tension in my lower back. Would really recommend this chair for anyone with lower back issues"
