The PRO Plus carries six treatments in one handle: percussive massage at Therabody's signature 16mm treatment depth, built-in near infrared LED light therapy, a vibration therapy attachment, a heat therapy attachment, a cold therapy attachment sold separately, and guided breathwork with haptic cues. Each therapy runs on its own. Several run together on the same muscle in the same session.

The hardware behind those modes is what makes them usable. An LCD display screen selects among five massage speeds and steps you through five visually-guided routines. A built-in biometric sensor reports your lowest heart rate when a breathwork session ends. Therabody puts average runtime at about 150 minutes and says outright that the number moves with whichever attachment is fitted.

Everything the PRO Plus does is selectable on the device itself. The screen carries five step-by-step, visually-guided routines and the speed selector, so the phone stays in your bag during a treatment. The near infrared LED array is integrated into the device, so it stays available while you work through a percussive routine. Temperature is handled by attachments. The heat attachment holds three set points, and the cold attachment, which is sold separately, syncs to the device and holds three of its own. One point of honesty: Therabody publishes no wavelength and no LED count for the built-in array, so we do not quote one.

"I love this pro plus gen 6. At first I didn’t think it was helping much but using it daily I started noticing a difference. I also like the app the knows when I do a strength and/or cycling workout and then adds a post workout activity that targets the muscles used. The app videos are nice to follow and really like the pressure indicator and ability to turn the light or heat on/off. Also it’s so portable, I took it with me to Gravel Worlds Winter Endurance Race and used it afterwards making the long drive back home more relaxing. It’s a tool in my toolbox that I wish I had years ago."
