Fitness-Based New Year's Resolutions

As you make fitness-based resolutions for the new year, it's important to choose exercises that you enjoy and that fit your fitness level and goals. There are many different types of exercise to choose from, including:

  • Aerobic exercise: Also known as "cardio," this type of exercise involves sustained, rhythmic movements that get your heart rate up and increase blood flow. Examples include running, cycling, and swimming. Aim to do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise per week, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
